PhysiAtrY

What is a physiatrist?

Physiatrists are specialized physicians who diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients of all ages suffering from problems affecting the musculoskeletal and neurological system and resulting disabilities.

Using a systematic approach, physiatrists perform clinical examinations and prescribe treatments involving various therapists, orthotists, medications, and injections. Common conditions treated include back and neck pain, tendinitis, bursitis, arthritis, fractures, sports injuries, muscle pain, and headaches.

At Rockland Physiatry and Sports Medicine Clinic, our physiatrists work with a multidisciplinary team to help you achieve your rehabilitation goals.
